" I got the OneMICRO (pair, no sub) only for my travels as I have a couple of full sized serious hi-fi system at home. I have had many many small speakers through the years which culminated in the Bose Mini which I prefer to a lot of other similar sized systems including the much touted small JBLs or Ultimate Ears. Well, I finally am making a four country trip and am in the 4th country and really put them through the paces. In short, the speakers are AMAZING for their size, and by far the best portable speakers that I use for travel - IF one uses it right in terms of placement. Here's the key: I place the speakers on the floor at the CORNER of hotel rooms. This allows:
1. Addition of low mid and bass reinforcement through boundary reinforcement
2. Allow it to point to the ceiling for 'ceiling splash' (look it up) and yet the dispersion of small drivers allows also direct sound. The taller the ceiling and larger the hotel room, the better the effect. My best effect is with 10 feet and 12 feet tall ceilings. Ideally, one would sit on the opposite wall for listening to create a near equilateral triangle. Result: It is very remarkable fidelity. Sure, it is not full hifi set up but it is very musical. The results includes:
a. VERY spacious sound that really creates a huge stereo soundscape. For a hotel room, this is very satisfying. There's actually a serious sense of 'air'.
b. Amazingly loud, quite satisfying really. This is due to the CORNER placement where the corner acts like a horn which greatly increases apparent efficiency of the speakers
c. Remarkably musical. Last night, I actually spent an hour (an hour which I really did not have) just sitting back and letting music soak over me with my eyes closed. This is an absolutely amazing statement for me. I've never had any other portable speaker do that for me, as they are not stereo.
d. Good resolution and transient speed without overly fake accentuated bass.
And then when one open the eyes, it is amazing to see these two tiny little cylinders produce this level and quantity of audio. This leads me to believe that Kenneth actually LISTENS to his speakers to tune his speakers. Small speakers like the OneMicro is all about making the right compromises and I believe Kenneth made all the right ones with the OneMICRO. Bravo. Just Bravo!"
